A Day Trip

Last weekend I needed to get out of the house, so we decided to head up to Hyde Park, NY where we had visited before to see the Roosevelt Estate and Presidential Library. One thing we didn't get time to do last time was visit the Vanderbilt Mansion down the street. After seeing an episode of "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives", which featured the Everyready in Hyde Park, I decided it would make a perfect day trip. Do you see a pattern in what the Jacobsen's do? It seems to always revolve around places to eat and then the sights to see! Lunch was as fabulous as we hoped and the tour was very interesting. With snow coming down, there were only two other people on the tour which was nice. Interesting fact on the house, everything is the same as if the Vanderbilt's still own it. The niece sold the property to the government for $1 and left it completely furnished. Due to the snow falling and the excitement of our girls, the pictures were mostly about snowball fights!

So fun! Ella got really wet (at least her hair!) Now, that's a good snowball fight! I love those tours when you're the only ones there...that's how we've seen Nauvoo twice (funny when you go at Thanksgiving and on Christmas, that happens!)

Is that a Yankees hat on Eric? Katie decided that she wanted to buy a house more than go to NY. We will have to visit Oregon sometime. By the way Eric I hear that Oden is getting some motorcyle lessons from Jay Williams and Bobby Hurley to pass the time while rehabbing. New look lakers looks good, Getting excited hold in there pinky finger.
