Time Flies!

Wow! I can't believe how fast this summer is going! We unfortunately haven't had any great vacations like most of our friends, but we are enjoying a cooler New York summer. Although it's a bit rainy, even for a girl from Oregon! I'm a little behind in my updates. So here's a recap!

I attended my first girl's camp, which was fantastic. My friend Laura did a great blog on what that's all about for those of you who don't know. I'm in Young Women now and loving it! The girls are just fantastic! I am happy to report that Chloe and Ella did such a great job while I was gone! Thanks Cyndi and Laurel for watching them for me!!

After I got home we had some great friends from high school come for a short visit. They both are from Astoria and have been living in Connecticut. We drove down to the city and spent the day at one of my favorite places in the world, Central Park. The weather couldn't have been better. It was busy, but so much fun! The pictures of Ella on the carousel are so great! For the record, it's a fast carousel. She doesn't normally get that excited!

Wave Hill Visit

On Saturday we ventured off to an area in the Bronx known as Wave Hill. It's a beautiful garden park located right on the Hudson River. The views were breathtaking and the flowers beautiful. If you arrive before noon there's no entrance fee and it's the only place that has free parking in NYC! The girls favorite part was the water garden. Ella must have stayed there for a half hour watching for the fish and trying to touch one. The Bronx fascinates me. There's Pelham Park with horse trails, Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens, and now Wave Hill, I'm in constant surprise by how large it is and the many diverse areas. It's is so much more than it gets credit for.

Meet Our New Neighbors!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We have just been at home enjoying the summer weather! But news did occur last week, we have blessed to have our old friends from dental school, Steve and Laurel Lan, move right around the corner from us! (For all our Maryland friends, you now get your choice of which small apartment you would like to stay at when you come visit!) Chloe and Ella love to play with Ethan and are having the best time. The only thing we haven't yet found a solution to is Steve's lack of grill space. He had to leave it behind in Maryland. We are working overtime to fix this problem. We are definitely spoiled when it comes to having friends here. So many young families to connect with, which is the complete opposite from what I thought it would be like. Living here is so much better than I ever imagined! It will be so hard to leave!
